Background

The Photo Adventures Camera Club began meeting in May of 2003.  Among the original group were experienced professionals and amateurs alike, with a common goal of creating a venue to share their knowledge, information, techniques and critiques.

We share an interest in all forms of photography, including color and monochrome prints and digital images. Subject matter varies widely, including but not limited to Nature, Landscapes and Portraits.

The club format is informal. We encourage all our members to participate in the digital image critiquing held at every meeting.

Our first meeting of the month consists of a prepared presentation by a club expert or local pro.  We then review "Project" pictures based on an assigned project list.

The second meeting includes showing personal favorite images AND slide shows created by members on different topics, or instructional presentations by members on topics such as Photoshop, Pro Show, etc.

The Club strives to hold a field trip to some photographically interesting location every month.

We have found that field trips are one of the best ways to increase your photographic expertise as you are in the field learning in real time.  Members learn from one another the elements that make up a good shot, which is one of the Club's objectives.
